The Follo Line Project, EPC TBM

Location: Norway
Date: 2017
Client: Acciona Construcción
In the Follo Line project are included the longest railway tunnels in Scandinavia, two twin tunnels of 19.5 km each and an inner diameter of 8.8 meters, which connect the cities of Oslo and Ski, establishing the central axis of development long distance south of the Norwegian capital.

Destined for the circulation of trains at 250km / h that facilitate communication between the inhabitants of the two cities, both tunnels have already been excavated by four huge double shield tunneling machines called Anna de Kloppa, Magda Flåtestad, Reina Eufemia and Reina Ellisiv, in honor to brave and enterprising women of the region.

These begin the drilling of the rock of the hill of Ekeberg in the middle of the route, in Åsland, where are the facilities that give service to the plants of dovelas and concrete. Each of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machines) measures 150 meters and weighs 2,400 tons.

The challenging tunnel drilling project has also included the blasting of caves for TBM, rescue tunnels (an escape tunnel 2.7 km long) and two transport tunnels 420 meters long each. The consortium, formed by ACCIONA and Ghella, also runs all railway facilities, except for signaling systems.

Ingemey's work consisted in the elaboration of a 3D numerical model for invert segment’s anchoring system assesment.
